The National Offender Management Service has announced that Russ Trent, who is currently Governor at HMP Brinsford where he and his team have developed a rehabilitative culture, will become the Project Director and also will be the Governor of the new prison.
Russ brings a wealth of experience to this role, having begun working at HMP Aylesbury following his career in the Royal Marines. He has previously worked in areas such as Learning and Skills and Physical Education and has also held senior positions at Dorchester, Winchester, Feltham and Portland. This will be of huge benefit as the operation of the prison is designed and to develop the necessary partnerships in the local community. Russ will play a vital role in creating the culture of the prison, which will not just focus on how it operates as a public service, but on working with external partners and the wider community too
